Celebrate the 135th anniversary of installing Hong Kong’s first elevator with us!
At Otis, we're committed to promoting STEM education in the next generation. Since 2010, we've been sharing our passion for engineering through our Little Engineer program in Hong Kong. We've expanded our efforts by establishing STEM corners in local primary schools and inviting Otis engineers to read STEM-related books to students. To celebrate the 135th anniversary of installing Hong Kong’s first elevator, we invite our community to celebrate with us by joining the Otis Little Engineer Book Report Competition. Here are the details:
Participants: Aged 12 or below
Format of entries: Students can choose any book related to STEM and create a video introducing the book in less than 2 minutes. The language of the book and video can be either in English or Chinese. They can use visuals and props to help illustrate their book's themes. They can also share their thoughts on the book and why they found it interesting.
Judging criteria: Creativity 40%, Content & critical thinking 30%, Presentation skill 30%
Submission deadline: Complete the application form (here) with the video link by July 16, 2023. Deadline is extended untill July 23, 2023.
All participants will receive a digital participation certificate. The first 135 participants will receive a pack of Little Engineer models.
Awards:
- Champion: iPad, Apple Pencil and trophy
- 1st runner up: iPad Mini and trophy
- 2nd runner up: HK$1000 bookstore coupon and trophy
- 7 Outstanding Entries: HK$500 bookstore coupon each
All winners will be invited to join a Little Engineer workshop and award presentation ceremony on August 11, 2023 . This will be an exciting opportunity for winners to meet and learn from Otis engineers.
The winning videos will be featured on Otis social media and website, showcasing their creativity and talent to inspire others to get involved in STEM education.
