Hotel Borobudur Jakarta
Nestled in the heart of the city, Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is a historic 5-star landmark, renowned for its 23 acres of landscaped tropical gardens, and its unique characteristics, both inside and out, with artistic elements deeply rooted in Indonesian culture.
Since 1976, Otis has been installing, and continually maintaining as well as updating the elevators at Borobudur Hotel Jakarta, ensuring safe, seamless and reliable mobility for guests and staff alike.
In our most recent endeavor, we are undertaking the comprehensive modernization of 10 Otis Gen2 elevators. They are designed to offer smooth, quiet movement, space-saving design, and energy efficiency. Beyond functionality, our Gen2 elevators also further enhance the artistic ambiance of the hotel with special materials, lighting, and accessories within the cabin.
Millennium Mall
Previously known as Plaza Atrium, the 8-story shopping center located in the heart of Jakarta, was renamed Millenium Mall. Otis was chosen for its extensive elevator and escalator replacement and modernization project. Otis is replacing 25 escalators and eight elevators, while modernizing six escalators.
To provide a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride, the existing machine belts in several of the elevators is replaced with Otis' Gen2 patented polyurethane-coated steel flat belts that significantly decrease vibration. To achieve greater energy-efficiency, all elevators will feature Otis' ReGen™ drive, potentially cutting energy consumption by up to 37% compared to the existing equipment.
Additionally, several escalators in high-traffic areas will undergo legacy truss modernization, retaining the existing framework while updating them with new equipment. This approach minimizes disruption and reduces downtime for passsengers, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the mall.
